What is BJ’s?
BJ's Restaurants serve quality food and fresh, handcrafted beers in a casual, high energy atmosphere. Our restaurant team members exude a warm, friendly and energetic spirit that conveys a sense of honest value and a commitment to exceed the expectations of our guests. We have a lively bar with plenty of televisions throughout the restaurant , but we're not a "sports bar." We offer our unique handcrafted beer, but we're not a "brew pub." We're just a high energy, casual dining restaurant that offers quality food and handcrafted beer at a good value to our guests.
BJ's offer a high quality, extensive (approximately 100 item) menu featuring BJ's signature deep dish pizza, complemented by generously portioned salads, sandwiches, soups, pasta, entrées, our own line of handcrafted microbrewed beers and of course our famous Pizookie® dessert. Quality, flavor, value, moderate prices and sincere service remain distinct attributes of the BJ's experience.
BJ's is popular with all ages – kids, families, young adults, "baby boomers" and senior citizens – and all income levels. Our average check per guest is approximately $11-$12, which is actually about the same (or less) that what you would pay for an average experience at one of the "mass market" casual dining restaurants. The difference is – at BJ's we believe you get much more for your money!
What is the difference between BJ’s Pizza & Grill, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery, and BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse?
In 1978, our first restaurant opened in Santa Ana, California and was called "BJ's Chicago Pizzeria." The unique deep dish pizza was an immediate hit, and additional "Pizzeria" restaurants were opened in beach cities along Southern California's coastline from San Diego to Los Angeles.
As the years went by, significant changes were made to the BJ's menu and the name was consequently revised to BJ's "Pizza & Grill." Then in 1996, the first large-format restaurant was opened in Brea, California. The introduction of fine handcrafted beers was welcomed by guests and the newly renamed "BJ's Restaurant & Brewery" concept was launched. Most of our restaurants do not have an on-site brewery. Instead, they have a "tap room" from which BJ's unique handcrafted beer is dispensed. These large-format restaurants operate under the name "BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse." New menu items and new beers have been added over the years as the BJ's brand has expanded throughout California, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, and Hawaii. By the end of 2006, there will be 55 BJ's Restaurants open.

How do I purchase a BJ’s gift card?
You may purchase BJ’s gift cards at all restaurant locations as well as online on our website.
How do I sign up for BJ's e-mail list and how does it work?
Sign up for our e-mail list to automatically receive BJ’s news and special events, seasonal menu specialties and a reminder for your free birthday Pizookie®. You may sign up at any BJ’s Restaurant or on our on-line sign-up form.
Does BJ's offer carry-out and delivery service?
Our entire menu is available for carry-out at all of our restaurants (except for alcoholic beverages). Many, but not all, BJ’s offer delivery service. Please contact your nearest BJ’s Restaurant regarding delivery.
Does BJ's offer any vegetarian dishes?
BJ’s offers a variety of vegetarian dishes. Popular items include our Avocado Egg Rolls: crispy, golden wontons wrap a blend of avocados, cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, pine nuts, chipotle pepper and spices. We also offer a variety of salads, including our Garden Medley Salad served with crisp romaine lettuce, artichoke hearts, fire-roasted red peppers, tomatoes, red onions, feta cheese, drizzled with our balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
And, of course, our signature BJ’s deep-dish pizza has many vegetarian options. Our Vegetarian Pizza is topped with mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, white onions and fresh Roma tomatoes. You may also build your own veggie pizza from a long list of ingredients like pineapple, sweet corn, fresh basil and artichoke hearts. And you can’t leave BJ’s without diving into our legendary Pizookie® dessert. This is a freshly baked, hot out-of-the oven, rich and delicious cookie topped with 2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream and served in its own deep dish. Flavors range from Oreo cookie, chocolate chunk, white chocolate macadamia nut, peanut butter or oatmeal raisin walnut.
Do you have a gluten-free menu?
Our restaurants can provide information for guests who have food and allergen sensitivities or an intolerance to gluten. Please ask your server for a copy of our Food and Allergen Sensitivities Menu and Gluten Free Selections.
Do you have any nutritional information?
At this time, BJ’s Restaurants does not provide nutritional information for each menu item. We prepare each and every dish with the freshest and finest ingredients available. Every item is prepared daily to ensure the highest quality food.
Do you have a kids’ menu?
BJ’s Restaurants is a favorite among our guests looking for a family-friendly and kid-friendly venue. We offer a variety of kids’ choices that include our chicken tenders, pizzas, macaroni and cheese and, of course our Pizookies® are a favorite for kids of all ages.
How often does your menu change?
We update our menus twice a year – usually in May and November. We also make smaller changes throughout the year as necessary.
What is the recipe for my favorite menu item?
Most of the recipes offered by BJ’s menu are proprietary and are not available for release to the public. If you would like to enjoy our menu items at home, we offer our entire menu for carry out.
Do you offer catering or banquet services?
At this time, we do not offer catering but we do offer an excellent banquet option. Our large dining facilities are perfect for all parties and banquets. Great for any occasion whether it is for a graduation party or a family reunion, BJ’s is your large party destination. Please contact your local restaurant for reservations.
Do you take reservations?
We take reservations for large parties of 10 or more. Your party must be 3/4 complete in order to be seated. We generally do not take reservations for the first 30 days of a new restaurant opening, so that our new staff can become even more capable of servicing our large parties. Does BJ’s franchise?
BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. owns and operates all of its restaurants, with the exception of one licensee in Lahaina, Hawaii. At this time, BJ’s does not have any plans to franchise or license any new restaurants to others.
Who designs BJ's restaurants?
